Christian Communicators of the SouthEast Dress Code:

The Dress Code
In order to show respect for the activity, opponents, and judges, a dress code will be in effect for all CCofSE tournaments. The League’s objective in establishing a tournament dress code for participants is to keep the focus of attention on the speech, and off of the individual speaker. The emphasis is on modesty, professionalism, and the spirit of the law rather than the letter of the law.

Ladies:
For Debate: Modestly cut and modestly fitted pant or skirt suit, or dress with jacket, and conservative dress shoes. All hemlines must fall below the knee. Ladies are encouraged to wear dress slacks rather than skirts.
For Individual Events: Suits (as above), dress, or skirt and top. All hemlines must fall below the knee. Ladies are encouraged to wear dress slacks rather than skirts.
For all events: Hair should be neat, and jewelry and makeup, if used, conservative.

Men:
For Debate: Modestly cut business suit, or blazer with modestly fitted dress slacks, shirt, tie, and dark dress shoes.
For Individual Events: Modestly cut suit or blazer, dress slacks, shirt, tie, and dark dress shoes. Suit jackets or blazers are optional for JV boys.
For all events: Professional grooming for men includes being clean-shaven or having neatly groomed beards and/or mustaches.

Participants are expected to remain dressed in full tournament attire until after the awards ceremony.

Dress code violations may mean loss of the opportunity to compete. The Tournament Director will have final authority regarding such violations.

Parents, coaches, and siblings at competition events are expected to dress appropriately.
